Wind Weaver

Hello, again. I am enjoying the new year, and so far I have been keeping up with my goals. I have set up my youtube account, & posted my first two videos. Granted they are two parts of the same video. I wanted to make a clay pendant, and I had a face I had molded and sculped, plus a faux stone I made out of polymer clay. I put them on a sheet of scrap clay and went to work making the hair, out of the extra bit of scrap clay. I did not know what I was going to do at that point, but I ended up putting the clay through an extruder and making long skinny snakes out of it. I put those snakes over the bits of clay that I had as hair prior. It took a lot of work to make the hair, but I like how it turned out. I put the piece in the oven, and oops. I forgot to set the timer so the face and faux stone came out overcooked, or burnt. So now I had to think of a creative way to fix my piece, but first, I rolled out some more of the scrap clay, and made a backing, adding a bail to the piece and I put the scrap sheet of clay on the back, smoothing it out so there were no seams. I then pressed a texture stamp into the clay backing and put it back into the oven. Because it was already overcooked I smooshed the front of the piece into some aluminum foil while baking. I took it out of the oven later. and let it cool completely. I decided to paint over the whole thing since it was in pretty sad condition from overcooking. I used swellegant metal coatings in silver to cover the hair and face, and I went over it with swellegant sky sapphire patina. Once that was dry I peeled off the masking fluid I used to keep the faux stone from being covered in metal coatings, and I covered it with three layers of Qor watercolor ground. Once that was completely dry I pulled out various watercolor paints and went to work making it pretty. I used Blick liquid watercolors, Jane Davenport brights palette, and Qor iridescent silver just to add some sparkle to the top. I left this to dry completely. When I came back I added to the top Lisa Pavelka's Magic Glos, a UV resin, and I put it under a UV light to cure. I di have to use three layers of resin to cover it completely.
